WOW!
First of all I can't believe it's already Augest! I'm still shocked on where time went. So sorry for not posting anything since May.
Life has just gotten crazy busy the past few months. So much has happened where do I start? well first of all since my last posting I have totally renovated my basement, it looks 1000 times better. I've been working like a mad man. So much that it's already Augest and I'm still pasty white when I'm usually a nice shade of red by now.
I've quit my second job at Sephora so I can actually enjoy my summer and have time to actually take photos again. I've missed that. I have already had a field trip to my local museum to take some new photos. Im happy with what I got, I will make a photo album for them soon.
I have also got a letter from the school I'm supposed to be going to starting at the end of Augest. But im having major hesitations about going. My dream and goal is to become a Travel Photographer. But from the sounds of the course it's all about learning about film cameras, the history of photography, portraits, and weddings. Sure all of that would be handy for any photographer. But it's a 8 month course and on the website it said it was $7999. When I got my letter in the mail two weeks ago and added up all the equipment and textbooks and fees it was well over $12,000. Thats alot of money to spend and especially if you don't think this course will help you achive your dreams to there full potential.
I'm thinking that if I don't go to school I will work for a while and pay off my bills. I'm hoping to have them paid off by the end of the year. While doing all of this I will take more photography courses along the way and get more equipment to help me get better with my photography skills. I will save up my money and take a really big trip. It's not a trip to go on vacation. But it will be to work on my portfolio and also to make another travel book. Like my first one "I went to a land down under" But hopefully get this one published, and establish myself as a travel photographer/writer. I've just got to set up a plan to make this work.
So I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I'm trying my hardest to figure everything out if i should go to school or if I should take the road less travelled. And carve my own path. I know the second option will be very difficult and will take ALOT of work. But I am sure I can do it. No matter what I choose it has to be right for me. I have tons of work ahead of me with researching and contacting a few photographers to see what they did and what they found useful. But no one said life was easy. So here it goes, wish me luck. I have a great support system which I am very thankful for. I've got lots to do so I will hopefully post more on my blog soon. I promise it won't be months again. Maybe just a few days or so. But I will keep you posted.

Where Does Time Go?
WOW where does the time go? I've gone from blogging everyday to blogging with a two week gap in between. Well as you all know I've applied for Bump! I got a email back from them on Monday saying "are you planning on moving to San Fransico anytime soon" so i responded and said I wasn't planning on it, but I can definatly make it a option. I'm very flexible. I haven't heard anything back from them but here is to hoping :)
But there are some things going on at this end that I can't talk about yet as they are Top Secret! But I'm counting down the days until my Birthday. I'm going to be 25 at the end of the month. I can't wait so May 31st is my birthday, and then June 6th is PRIDE! so im going to be one busy boy by the end of the month.
This past week has just flown by. I can't believe its already saturday, well its past midnight so it's technically sunday. But this time last yeah I was in Auckland New Zealand about to start my Contiki tour! Oh I love 5 weeks of vacation. I wish I was on vacation right now. It's been about a month and a half since my last vacation and I'm getting ancy. At least I'm going on a road trip may 28-30th. Im going to small town Saskatchewan for a Wedding. For a couple I don't even know. I'm the plus one. Not exactly my idea of a vacation.
Oh well I'm going to New York in October, and who knows I might have a Interview in San Fransico!
Anyways my eyes are getting heavy. Im going to finish watching Video On Trial and head to bed. Good Night.
P.S. Summer Is Here In Winnipeg :D

Things Are Looking Up!
I must say this week is going very well! I've had my first real photography job, and now this! I should explain what THIS is first of all so my blog makes sence. A few weeks ago I was talking to my friend Tara, Tara works in the film/TV industry. She owns Charlie Mac Productions out in Nova Scotia. I was telling her how much I love the travel show BUMP! on Out TV. I've seen every episode and would love to be a part of the show.
So she emailed a few people, and we found out that they have internships every four months. The next one availible is from September to December. So today I got a email saying please send us your resume! How Fabulous is that! I'm so Excited! I'm supposed to go to school in the fall for photography, but if I get this internship school can wait!
This is a once in a lifetime oportunity that I will not let it pass me by! I really hope I get this job.
For all of you who don't know what BUMP! is check it out. It's the Best Gay and Lesbian Travel show out there. And it's Canadian! Which is even better, here's the link.

Second Day Of PMI
So today was another early start I was at the PMI confrence for 7:00am. I helped my dad get everything prepaired for the morning. At breakfast we had a Keynote Speaker giving a speech. He was a Elvis Impersonator from Texas who was supposed to be talking about Project Managment, but instead he gave a 40 minute speach about the pyramids and the Egyptians! I'm not sure how the two tied everything together but people seemed to like it.
But I had a really great day, I was a networking pro! most of the speakers kept coming up to me to ask me about my photography, so I told them I wanted to be a travel photographer and make travel books along the way. One of the presenters asked me to email her photos so she could put them on her website. She is even going to put a link to my website on her website! I'm very excited about this. Things are looking good!

Day One Of The PMI Confrence
Today was my first photography job and it was awesome! I'm working the PMI confrence here in Winnipeg. So I was basically taking photos of all the presenters, and awards that were going on during the day. I had a mini crisis this morning though. I have rented a flash from Don's photo's, and I was doing some test shots and they were going well. After a while the flash stopped working, the screen on the back of the flash was going but the pilot light had turned off. I couldn't figre it out for the life of me as this was my first time using this flash.
So in a panic I called my Mom, I work her up since this wsa 7:45 in the morning but she didn't mind. So I switched the batteries in the flash to see if that did a diffence. After turning the flash back on the pilot light failed to turn on still :(
So I tried another test shot and HOLY FUCK it was bright. The whole photo was brighter then staring at the sun!
After taking four photos of pure whitness the flash settled down and started working like regular. I was so relived I felt that I should call the hospital and tell them to cancel the abulance lol. Panic attack over.
It was smooth sailing for the rest of the day. I got all of the shots I needed to get and I uploaded them to the Laptop and got them ready for the lunch time slideshow. I was a little upset that the projector made my photos look blue today but that was out of my control.
But after my day I have realized I cannot live without this flash. It's amazing! I'm totally going to rent one for New York. It makes my photos look so fabulous.
But I have to get ready for bed since I have to be up at 6:00am. The Keynote speaker of the morning is a Elvis Impersonator who is talking about Pyramids at a confrence for project managment. I'm not sure who this is going to pan out, but I think it will be Hystarical!
Details to come Tomorrow!
